Texas Cooperative Official Named As CCI President For 2001
Hans G. Kretschmer, a cooperative official from El Paso, TX, was elected president of Cotton Council International (CCI) for 2001. He was named during CCI’s board meeting which convened January 28 at the National Cotton Council’s (NCC) annual meeting.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Hans G. Kretschmer, a cooperative official from El Paso, TX, was elected president of Cotton Council International (CCI) for 2001. He was named during CCI’s board meeting which convened January 28 at the National Cotton Council’s (NCC) annual meeting. CCI is the NCC’s export promotions arm.
Kretschmer succeeds J. Larry Nelson, a producer from Edmonson, TX. Nelson becomes CCI board chairman, succeeding Paul A. Ruh, a merchant with Paul Reinhart, Inc. in Richardson, TX.
Other CCI officers elected for 2001 are first vice president William B. Dunavant, III, merchant, Memphis, TN; second vice president Robert A. Carson, Jr., producer, Marks, MS; and treasurer David Stanford, cooperative official, Lubbock, TX. Phillip C. Burnett of Memphis, TN, was re-elected as secretary and Allen A. Terhaar of Washington, DC, was elected assistant secretary.
CCI elected three new directors for 2001: Robert W. Norris, a cooperative official from Bakersfield, CA; Larry R. McClendon, a producer from Marianna, AR; and N. Wiley Murphy, a producer from Tucson, AZ.
